Mr. Alex Stepanov

C

omrade Stepanov was born in the city of Neriungri in the year of 1954. His parents used to change their permanent residences very often so Amphylokhii had to change his friends and his schools. (Comrade Stepanov was originally given a name Amphylikhii but he used to hide it and he changed it, as he grew older). The only thing that stayed permanent was Stepanov’s interest in physics and math. Young Amphylosha used to spend hours reading and doing experiments. But after some Stepanov’s experiments with nitrocellulose and gunpowder his parents suddenly moved to Uriupinsk, where Amphylokhii saw a bagpipe for the first time in his life. Since that time he has adored playing and collect bagpipes. Before he entered a university he played his bagpipe every morning at 5 o’clock. In Tiukalinsk, where the Stepanovs moved next year, young Stepanov saw a skunk for the first time in his life. During a long period in his life Amphylokhii used to keep them at home as pets and to play them on his bagpipes. But they left for Vladimir from a nice city of Tiukalinsk because the Stepanovs enjoyed changing their residences. At that time Amphylokhii changed his name into Alex. He decided to enter the Leningrad State University while he was walking along the embankment of the river Kliazma. (Alex used to spend hours there when he lived in Vladimir). In The LSU Alex met his wife – a charming blonde Naomi from Maramba (a city in Zambia). She was studying Greek philosophy there. They have three children and at the time when they were born their parents used to read ancient Greek books so Alex and Naomi have given their children beautiful Greek names: Anaxymander, Paramenyd and Amphedokl.
